Vinay Tolia

Vinay Tolia began his finance career as an intern on the CBOE trading floor before moving into investment banking. He later co-founded Bengal Capital, a derivatives-focused hedge fund, alongside his brother Sanjay, which they successfully managed for over a decade.

Following a brief period leading a company through a public listing in Canada, Vinay returned to his core focus in finance. Recognizing that independent RIAs could benefit from deeper expertise in derivatives—particularly in the structuring and execution of structured notes—he co-founded Marine Layer.

Today, Marine Layer operates as a dedicated derivatives trading desk for independent RIAs, helping advisors navigate structured notes with greater precision while removing the operational complexity and administrative burden.

Vinay holds a BSE in Industrial and Operations Engineering and a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan. Outside of work, he is an avid sports fan and outdoor enthusiast.
