Sanjay Tolia

Sanjay Tolia has built his career at the intersection of institutional finance and entrepreneurship. He began at leading Chicago-based derivatives funds before founding Bengal Capital in 2006, an equity derivatives hedge fund that became a recognized name in the space.

Beyond finance, Sanjay has founded and scaled companies across multiple industries, including a private equity venture focused on health and wellness.

Today, Sanjay co-founded Marine Layer Advisors to bring institutional-grade structured note expertise directly to independent financial advisors. His belief is simple: advisors and their clients should have access to the same pricing, execution, and strategies that large institutions take for granted. Marine Layer is how he delivers that access.

Outside of work, Sanjay lives on the Southern California coast with his wife and three children. He is an avid surfer—though, by his own admission, not necessarily a good one.

Sanjay holds a degree in Economics from the University of Michigan.
