Mark Lutz joined Marine Layer Advisors in October 2025 as Head of Product, where he oversees internal tools and the client portal. In this role, he focuses on enhancing operational efficiency and improving the advisor experience through thoughtful system design and product development.
Prior to Marine Layer, Mark served as a Portfolio Manager at SpiderRock Advisors (acquired by BlackRock), delivering options overlay solutions to Registered Investment Advisors. His background combines quantitative rigor with practical portfolio implementation.
Mark holds a Master of Science in Financial Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California.
